COTTAGE HOMES
House on Rock Point
With an elevated, 270 degree view of the Atlantic Ocean, including the famous Nubble Lighthouse, this house location is truly spectacular. Being so close to the ocean, an older camp on this site allowed for restricted development, but forced the main house to be only one story. A separate garage, lying outside of the restricted zone has a second floor apartment with magnificent views.
Total Remodel to a Classic Ranch
This 50’s Ranch was completely redone to take advantage of its beautiful water view and convenient location to downtown Portsmouth, NH. Its proximity to the back channel wetland meant no footprint expansion was possible. However by re-organizing all the space available the living area was increased and tied more closely to the sun and water. For a more expansive description see New Hampshire Home article from March/April 2013.
Remodel of House Overlooking the Cove
This was a 100 year old, modest house but in the most amazing location looking across a major small boat harbor with lots of entertaining traffic to the south west. To the south east it looks down upon a small, protected inlet. The house was completely gutted and reorganized around the view and sunlight. Porches and decks were added and the whole assembly made energy efficient and durable. The perfect retirement compound for year round living and family visits.

Updating a Classic New Englander
This style of house is very common in Portsmouth, NH, taking good advantage of narrow lots in higher density locations. Most were built after 1890, until the 1930’s. This one dates from 1920 and was an excellent example of its type, although in need of interior updating and suffering from “Kitchen/Living separation”. The house was completely stripped and gutted, reorganized to enhance a more open living layout with connection to the sun.
