Brendan McNamara Residential Architecture

The owners of this site wanted their barn to reflect traditional New England architecture and reap the reward of the functional beauty inherent to this approach. The apartment is charming and comfortable and no criticism has been heard from the stables’ four legged occupants.

As a truly working building the special needs, nuances and unfortunate habits of the occupants had to remain paramount. It is unlikely that protecting a new home from the residents chewing on the woodwork will be necessary in future projects. The cupola, while very elegant, plays a vital role in providing natural light and ventilation to this very large building.
