The orientation of this lot is magnificent. From an elevated, rocky outcrop running from side to side, a lawn flows south to a rock and sand beach, with a busy small boat harbor beyond. To the east, six miles distant lies a picturesque island group and 0.5 miles away, the harbor entrance and breakwater. To the west is a charming Marina and Country Club. Two, very large and stately oak trees sit to the edge of the rock ridge and their preservation was of utmost importance.

The house was placed to sit atop the ridge, maximizing the view and encourage a sense of visual connection to the natural features. The use of “Shingle Style” was to reinforce a sense of flowing community with the environment. The Kitchen has sweeping views across the Family Room to the south, with its “wall of glass”, and the round, cone roof Dining Room to the east. A porch and patio lie to the west. There is an eastern Guest and Master Bedroom wing with the second floor bedrooms each having their own balcony and discrete views.
