Brendan McNamara Residential Architecture

A main house, connector and big attached barn in a field, this home epitomizes the New England Farm but the traditional elements are utilized in a very modern way. The house and barn are carefully aligned to optimize sunlight and the wrap around porch allows year round appreciation of the outdoors.

The windows letting the sun into the open main living area, with Kitchen, Dining and Family, give wonderful views of the surrounding farmland. Bedrooms occupy the second floor of the main house, and the upper part of the barn is a large playroom that could be an apartment. This space is flooded with light from the large cupola. On the first floor of the barn is a two-car garage, storage for outdoor activity equipment and spacious cabinetmaking shop with generous windows to the east and south, making for a joyous, well lit, workspace.
