Placing a new house at the water’s edge was made possible by a pre-existing structure. The new design borrowed heavily from the look and feel of the old building and is imbued with the same ‘40’s nostalgic charm.

A large room, projecting south, contains Kitchen, Dining and Family Rooms with commanding views of the lake and grounds on three sides. A large deck on the south side wraps and becomes an entry porch to the west and a screened porch/outside dining area to the east. This porch is only 20’ from the water and provides the ultimate spot for a relaxed breakfast. The bedrooms are kept to the second floor, with the master having a magnificent view down this very long lake on the Central Maine Coast.

While maintaining the general appearance of a vacation “camp” and with it a sense of relocation from the everyday world, this is a fully developed, energy efficient home, capable of year round occupation.
